Legal Secretary
Our client is an award winning Legal 500 boutique law firm and they have an opportunity, within their new Penrith office, for a Legal Secretary.
The firm specialises in Court of Protection, Deputyships, Family Law, Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Property, Litigation & Disputes and Wills, Trusts and Probate Services.
The main purpose of the role will be to provide efficient and effective legal secretarial support to the Litigation department.
Your new job
- Supporting and assisting Litigation fee earners as far as is possible
- Audio and copy typing for Litigation team
- Billing (Monthly or as required)
- Processing all claims for client related expenses (obtain from fee earners on a regular basis) and personal expenses for members of the Litigation team
- Overseeing general administration for all Litigation files
- Organising client appointments and arranging meeting rooms
- Maintaining awareness of files so as to be able to take messages and update clients on the telephone as required
- General firm administration (preparing and posting chitties/maintaining internal registers/storage of deeds and documents etc)
- Cover when reception staff are not available i.e. answering the door, making tea/coffee for clients/answering the telephone/scanning in documents etc
- Cover when Family and WTP legal secretaries are not available i.e. opening new files, completing chitties etc
About you
- Two to three years in a legal secretarial role
- Good standard of education
- Working knowledge of using Windows, Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Outlook and case management systems
- Working knowledge of digital dictation systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to relate to a wide range of clients and manage their expectations
- Good prioritisation and time management
