Office Administrator

We have a lovely opportunity, for an Administrator, to work for an established family owned business in Whitehaven. The business is involved in retail, catering and property.
Your job will be to help the management with general administration and office management.
The role will suit someone who has exceptional attention to detail, is fully confident with creating and using spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and has plenty of initiative (there’s always something that needs to be done).
Your new job
This is a varied role and your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and using spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
- Replying to emails and customer enquiries
- Keeping staff records up to date (holidays, sickness etc)
- Chasing orders from suppliers
- Entering staff hours onto spreadsheets for payroll
- Checking staff timesheets
- General administration
- Copying, faxing and filing
- Liaising with customers and suppliers
- Dealing with complaints (and compliments)
- Acting as PA to the directors / management team
About you
The ideal person for this position:
- Good all-round administration skills
- Good level of education (especially English and Maths)
- A Business Degree would be useful but not essential
- High level of competence using Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Has plenty of initiative and ability to instigate tasks
- Great people skills (polite, friendly and professional)
- Someone who likes to get the job done
- Can find solutions to problems and implement them
Salary and benefits
For the right candidate, salary of between £10.00 and £14.00 per hour is on offer. Other benefits include:
